This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") explains how Perisim, LLC ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal and engineering data through SolidNetics — a cloud-based engineering simulation platform that includes our Core Module (FEA, PINN, peridynamics, topology optimization, unit-cell homogenization, thermal) and our AM Module (PathWeaver, FusionCore, FusionMap, GrainPath, StressForge, CertifyAM). By using SolidNetics, you agree to the practices described below.

01 Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Information

  • Name and contact information
  • Email address
  • Company or organization name
  • Billing and payment information (processed by our payment provider)
  • Login credentials, or enterprise SSO identifiers when applicable
  • User-generated content and support inquiries

1.2 Engineering Data

You may upload CAD files (STEP, STL, IGES, OBJ), calibration packages (JSON), and simulation configurations including boundary conditions, material assignments, mesh parameters, and process parameters. These files remain your intellectual property and are used only to operate the analyses you request.

1.3 Usage Data

  • IP address and approximate location
  • Browser and device information
  • Operating system
  • In-application events (project creation, runs launched, results visualized)
  • Analysis frequency, compute usage, and performance metrics

02 How We Use Your Information

2.1 Service Operation

  • Provide simulation, post-processing, and visualization services across the Core and AM modules
  • Run FEM, PINN, peridynamics, topology, thermal, and AM workflows on your behalf
  • Maintain account functionality, quotas, and billing
  • Communicate with you about your projects, account, and platform updates
  • Improve system accuracy, user experience, and service performance

2.2 Model & Surrogate Improvement

We may use anonymized, aggregated data to improve the accuracy of our PINN models and the AM surrogate models that power tools such as StressForge and GrainPath. Your specific designs, geometries, and process parameters are not shared between customers, and are never used to train models in a way that would expose them to other users without your explicit authorization.

2.3 Analytics

Usage data is used to evaluate service performance, identify trends, and prioritize improvements. We do not sell analytics data or use it for third-party advertising.

03 File Handling & Security

3.1 File Ownership and Storage

  • All files you upload remain your intellectual property.
  • Files are stored on encrypted, US-based AWS infrastructure.
  • Access is restricted to authorized users in your organization and to support personnel acting on documented requests.

3.2 Security Measures

  • Industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit; AES at rest) protects your data.
  • Strong authentication and least-privilege access controls govern internal systems.
  • Periodic security reviews are performed to maintain platform integrity.
No security program is perfect. We follow industry best practices, but we cannot guarantee absolute security and recommend you follow good operational hygiene with your own credentials.

04 Authentication & Account Security

You may sign in to SolidNetics using a SolidNetics-managed account or via supported enterprise identity providers, including:

  • Microsoft (OAuth)
  • Google (OAuth)
  • Other supported SSO platforms (Enterprise plans)

During authentication we may collect your name, corporate email address, and basic verification data returned by the identity provider. We do not receive or store your identity-provider password.

05 Data Sharing & Third Parties

5.1 No Selling or Monetization

We do not, and will not:

  • Sell your personal or engineering data
  • Use your files or simulation results for advertising
  • Share your content with third parties for profit

5.2 Limited Data Access

Access to your data is restricted to:

  • Authorized members of your organization
  • Perisim support personnel, only as needed for troubleshooting on documented requests
  • Sub-processors strictly required to operate the platform (payment processors, AWS infrastructure), each bound by confidentiality and data-protection terms

5.3 Legal Compliance

We may disclose your data if required by law or valid legal process (for example, a subpoena or court order). Where permitted, we will notify you in advance.

5.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of SolidNetics or Perisim, LLC, we will:

  • Notify you in advance
  • Give you the option to delete your account and data
  • Ensure the new entity honors this Policy or provides materially equivalent protections

06 Your Rights & Controls

  • Access and download your uploaded files and results
  • Update your account information at any time
  • Delete your projects, files, and request full account deletion
  • Restrict how anonymized usage data is used for model improvement
  • Request details on our data-handling practices by contacting us

07 Data Retention

  • Project files, simulation results, and configurations are retained as long as the parent project exists in your account.
  • Account and usage data are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to satisfy legal and operational obligations.
  • You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting support; deletions are processed within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.

08 Children's Privacy

SolidNetics is intended for use by individuals aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a minor has submitted data, please contact us so we can remove it.

09 International Users

Your data may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our sub-processors operate. By using SolidNetics, you consent to such transfers and understand that data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

10 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If material changes are made, we will notify you via:

  • Email announcements to the address on file
